勛圖扦 Student Ministries (BUSM) will host its first Home service of the academic year on Monday, September 8, beginning at 7 p.m. in Harman Chapel.
The name comes from a call to our generation to find its true home in Christ above all else, said Campus Pastor Mason West. Its rooted in John 15, where Jesus says, Abide in me, and I will abide in you. Jesus is our truest home.
At Bluefield, we also believe God has called us to be a lighthouse on the hill, a place where students can find not only a home away from home in community, but most importantly, a home in Christ, West added.
Home is a weekly worship service led by BU students each Monday. Originally a Sunday night service called Elevate, it debuted on a new night with its new name in fall 2023.
I can only describe Home with one wordjoy, worship leader Amelia Garrett said. Theres an excitement in the air when Im with my family again in the chapel.
Home is a house of encounter and fellowship with our Savior, and theres nothing sweeter than dwelling in the joy of the Lord with friends that only push you forward in worship and faith, she explained. Its definitely something you dont want to miss.
Home is a different feel, and Id say its one of the best things this campus has to offer, worship leader Benjamin Campbell said. Im super excited for it to be starting up again.
The team behind Home, 勛圖扦 Student Ministries, is a student leadership team committed to cultivating a culture of ministry on campus. Home is one of several ways BUSM helps students grow deeper in devotion, stronger in community, and bolder in Christ.
BUSM will host its weekly Abide worship and prayer services, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 12. Later this month, it will host the 34thannual Duremdes Christian Emphasis Week, known this year as Bold Week, September 24-26. During that week, students can engage with three days of Chapel services and three nights of campus-wide events emphasizing the universitys theme for the academic year, Bold based on 2 Corinthians 3:12. Additionally, the team will host Revival Nights the second Friday of each month beginning October 10 and its annual Deeper Young Adult Conference, February 20-22, 2026.
