³Ô¹ÏÉç – ³Ô¹ÏÉç was honored to welcome Dr. Clinton R. Hayes, the newly appointed president of Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC), to campus on Wednesday, July 23. His visit focused on strengthening local educational partnerships and expanding degree completion opportunities for students in the region.
Dr. Hayes, who officially began his role as SWCC’s fourth permanent president on July 1, met with ³Ô¹ÏÉç leadership to explore how both institutions can continue working together to provide clear, accessible pathways for Virginia Community College students seeking to earn bachelor’s or master’s degrees.
“Dr. Hayes brings a deep understanding of rural education and a passion for student success that aligns perfectly with ³Ô¹ÏÉç’s mission,” said Dr. Steve Peterson, President of ³Ô¹ÏÉç. “We were excited to share our programs and discuss how we can support SWCC graduates in taking their next academic steps right here in Southwest Virginia,” said Peterson.
³Ô¹ÏÉç currently offers seamless transfer pathways for students completing associate degrees at SWCC and other Virginia community colleges. These pathways allow students to continue their education without losing momentum, whether they’re pursuing careers in pre-medical studies, education, criminal justice, business, communications, or other high-demand fields.
³Ô¹ÏÉç admissions counselors are stationed on campus at Southwest Virginia Community College to offer personalized advising for students based on their intended program of study. The office is located in Buchanan Hall, Room 144.
Graduates from any community college are encouraged to contact the Bluefield admissions team, as there is still time to enroll for the fall semester. Applications are free and available ²¹³ÙÌý.
